On a recent Sean Hannity show, Kirsten Powers, using the tactic of personal demonization from the Saul Alinsky playbook, accused Reverend Jesse Lee Peterson of misogyny. For those of you who don’t know, Reverend Peterson runs an organization named BOND, whose mission statement “…stresses the importance of self-reliance, honesty, and helping others through patience.” Note the emphasis on self reliance and lack of emphasis on government funding to reach these noble goals.

Ironically, the somewhat heated exchange between Powers and Peterson occurred in the midst of the Obama campaign’s “The Life of Julia” launch. I won’t lower myself to the methods of a community organizer and call the campaign misogynistic, however I will suggest that any leader who sets the bar for a woman’s life as low as what’s been set for Julia is delivering a powerful blow to the self esteem of women worldwide. To suggest that women must rely on the government throughout their entire lives for education, health care, child care, business ventures and retirement is condescending at best.

What’s even more unconscionable about this campaign is the incessant claims that Romney’s plan to return to free enterprise Capitalism, a system built on freedom of choice and boundless opportunity, is deleterious to women. One only has to look at the condition of the European welfare states, and the behavior of those in the “Occupy” movement to find substantial, real world evidence that Socialism will be as bad for Julia as it is for Europeans and Occupiers .

Speaking of irony, one can’t ignore the fact that all of Julia’s benefits come at the expense of the hated 1%, who typically DON’T have to rely on Obama’s handouts and who have the courage and will to face life’s challenges with dignity.

The Reverend Peterson uses the power of persuasion to uplift women. Obama is using the power of the state to force women to a life of the second-hander.

The unavoidable end-game for Julia is a chronic state of bitterness towards and dependence on those that produce the handouts, which she’s been indoctrinated to think she can’t get on her own.

A key question for women for the next election is, “Are you a Julia?”

Side Note: Congressman Rohrabacher (CA 46) had the vision and courage to submit Congressional Resolution H.RES.422 regarding the “Superiority of Capitalism as an economic model.” Capitalism, by definition a system of voluntary mutually beneficial exchange, is a system characterized by the absence of force and the pervasiveness of persuasion. “The Rohrabacher Rule” can be read at this link. If you support the ideas presented in this bill, please click this link to email ANY Representative, asking them to join Congressman Rohrabacher by Co-Sponsoring this resolution.

In November, the choice between Obama or Romney is at its core a choice between power or persuasion.

Honest individuals on the left and right would be compelled to agree that most of Obama’s ideas require the use of force, the power of government, in order to implement. Obamacare, higher taxes, restricted energy exploration, bank bailouts, “The Buffet Rule”, cap and trade, the list goes on.

A Romney presidency, on the other hand, would be characterized by a shift towards free enterprise. What does that mean to the average person. For starters, it means that force is taken out of our daily lives. No matter how big or how successful a corporation is, in a free enterprise system that corporation has no more power to force you to buy its products than the average hot dog vendor (with no disrespect to hot dog vendors). That includes Exxon, Walmart, Microsoft and all the other mega-companies that often come under attack by “community organizers” and the liberal media.

What’s more important is that in order to gain customer loyalty, companies like those mentioned above are compelled to PERSUADE YOU, not force you as Obama would with Obamacare, to do business with them. One only has to take note of the plethora of daily discounts, special offers, free trials, guarantees and bonus points one receives from these and thousands of other companies in order to objectively compare these two presidencies. Do you think you’ll get this kind of courting from the medical community under Obamacare?

Come November, please ask yourself, “Do I want to be motivated by power or persuasion.”

As Obama continues his class warfare strategy for reelection with Saul Alinski inspired initiatives like “The Buffet Rule,” freedom loving Americans are fighting back against the “Rules for Radicals” disciples.

In this post I take the liberty of codifying what patriotic Americans already know and do. These “Rules for Defeating Radicals” are offered as a playbook to help restore America.

Individual freedom is the standard by which all rules are judged. Live for it.

Bromides like “for the public good,” when associated with political initiatives, are clear signals that individual rights are about to be violated. Don’t be fooled. Alleged economic and social benefits, which often cause more harm than good, are never justifications for violating the rights of individuals.

NEVER accept unearned guilt.

Widespread adoption of this simple rule will strike fear in the hearts and minds of radicals. It would signal the reawakening of the sleeping giant. It would unleash the indomitable spirit of every Constitution abiding citizen. Americans are not racist, homophobic, xenophobic or sexist. Americans happily and effectively care for the the sick, the elderly and the down trodden. If the free enterprise system were allowed to flourish, prosperity would be more widespread and voluntary charitable contributions would be even greater than they are today.

Capitalism is heroic. Defend it righteously.

Not only is Capitalism one of mankind’s greatest achievements, it’s the most moral economic system ever devised.

Socialism is the wolf in sheep’s clothing. Oppose it vigorously.

Socialism is immoral in theory and as history demonstrates, evil in practice. Don’t allow radicals to pass it off as anything else.

Money and pride, earned honestly, are good. Allow no one to convince you otherwise.

Never confuse ill gotten gains and unearned pride with the wealth and self esteem that comes from genuine achievement.

Charity, if voluntary, is good. Embrace it…voluntarily.

Charity that isn’t voluntary is a violation of freedom and the path towards corruption of all values. Remember rules 1 and 2 and this rule will be easy to follow.

Beware the Globalists. Never compromise your values.

America is the most successful and moral country the world has ever known. It is the standard other countries should emulate, not vice versa.

“Don’t accept the narrative, speak truth to power, have fun doing it.” – Andrew Breitbart

Andrew Breitbart left these words, among many others, about the power of independent thought, honesty and adventure. He was as correct as he was courageous.

Sustainability is often a code word for stagnation. Reject it for progress.

Natural resources are scarce only in the absence of human ingenuity. Parsimony is the enemy of advancement.

“If you make a small footprint no one will ever try to fill your shoes.” – Mother Nature

If humans can be certain about one thing, it’s that Mother Nature selected them as her chosen species. The difference between what humans can achieve and experience and what the next most intelligent species on earth can achieve is light years in magnitude. Mother Nature intended for the earth to be used in service of humans. Our footprints should be large and many and our strides should take us to the stars.

Side Note: Congressman Rohrabacher (CA 46) had the vision and courage to submit Congressional Resolution H.RES.422 regarding the “Superiority of Capitalism as an economic model.” “The Rohrabacher Rule” can be read at this link. If you support the ideas presented in this bill, please click this link to email ANY Representative, asking them to join Congressman Rohrabacher by Co-Sponsoring this resolution.

Americans have a unique opportunity to compare, side by side, two opposing visions for our country,“The Buffet Rule,” versus the “Rohrabacher Rule.”

On one side is the “tax the rich, class warfare” coercive vision of President Obama. This strategy is represented by Senate Bill S.2059, and Obama’s aggressive promotions for it, otherwise know as “The Buffett Rule.” Click this link and determine if you UNDERSTAND and support the Obama vision.

On the other side is the vision of economic freedom, personal dignity and voluntary cooperation as expressed in Congressman Rohrabacher’s “Superiority of Capitalism” bill, H.RES.422. “The Rohrabacher Rule,” can be accessed through this link.

Please take a few minutes to make an honest comparison of the two bills for clarity of purpose and degree of inspiration. Which bill do you understand? Which bill inspires you?

In November Americans will decide between the coercion of the “Buffett Rule” and the vision of freedom and innovation of the “Rohrabacher Rule.”

The president’s recent attack on the Supreme Court begs the question, “what’s his game?” There are those that can accurately judge a individual’s motives based on their license plate. I have no such powers and not knowing the president on a personal level can only speculate on his intentions. What are possible reasons for this action:

The president does not know Constitutional law, or understand the basic structure of government
The president is trying to intimidate Supreme Court Justices into making a favorable decision on Obamacare
The president is in full community organizing mode, hoping to ignite hostility towards the Supreme Court for his re-election

While this is not an exhaustive list, I’m inclined to believe it’s option three, which sadly is the most depressing and insidious of the choices. The president is fully aware that the Supreme Court is fulfilling its proper role, yet he chooses to cast aspersions on arguably mankind’s greatest political achievement, the Constitution, rather then defend his position on its merits.

As the election draws near, the president will continue to demonstrate his desperation and lack of leadership. His only recourse is to turn to his competence as a community organizer. A role, which in this case he’s attempting to organize Americans to fight for their own destruction by adopting his Socialist agenda. Let’s hope Americans are wise enough not to play Obama’s game.

The Supreme Court hearing on the Affordable Care Act, better known as Obamacare, will finally take place this week. One of the things that will be decided is whether Congress could, i.e. is allowed to, penalize an individual for NOT engaging in commerce.

The hearing and subsequent ruling promise to be gripping events, attracting worldwide attention. However, the REAL discussion, which never took place, needed to focus on the question “SHOULD Obamacare have been passed at all?” The now infamous quote by Nancy Pelosi, “we need to pass it so we can see what’s in it,” highlights how our political process was distorted to block such a discussion.

Recent findings by the Congressional Budget Office (CBO) on the real cost of Obamacare lend credence to the fact that Obamacare is NOT “Affordable” and should never have been passed. It’s not at all ironic that passing Obamacare is proving to be be an economic hazard as well as a hazard of liberty.

So the real contest of this hearing is between individual freedom versus government control over our lives through government mandates. Let’s hope freedom triumphs.

There’s an AMAZING Congressional Resolution seeking Co-Sponsors that could impact the political debate in this country and worldwide. It was submitted by the courageous Congressman Rohrabacher on October 5th of last year and its title is:

Expressing the sense of the House of Representatives regarding the superiority of capitalism as an economic model.

You can read the 2-page text of the bill here

The first tremors of impact will be felt when this bill is brought to the House floor for a vote. Americans will officially learn where each of our Representatives stand on support for free enterprise Capitalism.

But the significant quakes of impact will resonate when the debates begin on Capitalism versus Socialism and Keynesianism.

It’s a debate in which the left does not want to engage.

Please visit this link and ask ANY Representative, with just 2 easy clicks, to Co-Sponsor this bill.

What is the most important reason a child goes to school? In my opinion, the answer is “to teach a child the skills necessary to pursue a successful life.” Note the words “skills,” “pursue,” and “successful.”

While the educational authority (public, private or homeschool) has a fundamentally important role in the process, the ultimate actor is the child. Motivated by good educators, the child will have to make the choice to use the “skills,” make the decision to “pursue” dreams and decide what is “success.”

As adults we generally “cut kids slack” by making their decision for them in the early years. However, a goal of any adult with the power to influence a young person’s life should be to assist them in building sound judgement for the decisions they’ll eventually have to make on their own.

That is the reason why Career Day should be EVERY DAY! Career Days can help a young person more fully understand how “skills” are actually used to “pursue” what a real person has chosen as “success,” whatever that might be. It is during the process of observing and listening to each “day in the life” of the various workers, professionals and business people that participate in Career Days when the skills learned as theory are brought to life.

If Career Day were every day, young people would know what they want to be a lot earlier in life and they’d logically choose a career that is more right for them.

Career Day should not be once or twice a year as it is in most schools.

The other day I was watching a boxing match. In the 3rd round the fighters got really mad at each other so they started playing hockey!

“What the heck is going on with those guys!” hockey players that is. I couldn’t rescue my 3-year-old from watching one hockey player break another player’s neck. She immediately wanted to know why Charlie Brown was fighting.

“Oh! Those guys! They change games when they get mad at each other.” I cringed at my ineptidude while she kept starting at me. I had to do better.

“Hey!” I said. “Let’s think of another game they can play when they get mad! Do you have any ideas?”

“Yeah! How about….ummmmmmm…..Tea Party!”

“Great!” I said. “Does your brother have any ideas?” I looked over at my 5-year-old pulverizing a toy duck. “I guess not.”

“OK, here’s what we’ll do. Let’s write a letter to the commissioner.” So we got out some paper and crayons and I started writing as she dictated.

Dear Mr. Bettman,

I am a 3 year old who has a very impressionable father He was shocked to witness the vicious act of violence by one of your players and I fear that the psychological impact of the event could have a long term negative effect on his afternoon naps. While I know hockey is a rough sport, it is after all a game. Let me suggest that you instruct your players to work out their aggression though the time honored tradition of “tea party.” The sweet aroma and smooth taste of chamoumille tea can sooth the savage beast in anyone. If that doesn’t work, maybe they wouldn’t get so mad if you didn’t make them dress like Charlie Brown.

Very Truly Yours,

A 3-year-old Fan
