It’s not uncommon for me to sprinkle a political opinion in now and then. This week, out of obligation to the future of our children, I’m compelled to pontificate. However, in the spirit of “On Dad’s Watch,” it will be in story form.
Once upon a time, a few brave men risked their lives and fortunes, to fight for a noble idea called freedom. Today, these men would be known as the 1%. Contrary to their contemporary counterparts, they were lauded by the masses, rather than demonized, for their courage and nobility. Together with their fellow patriots they “brought forth a new nation, conceived in liberty and dedicated to the proposition that all men are created equal.”
As proof of their devotion to these ideals, the young nation sacrificed the treasure of nearly a million citizen lives to abolish the scourge of slavery. A blight on the record of human history that had existed for hundreds of centuries, was ended in less than 80 years from the birth of this precocious society.
Against insurmountable odds, the adventurous nation grew to be the most economically powerful and socially magnanimous country civilization has ever witnessed. Saving the world on multiple occasions from tyranny was a prelude to a triumphant day, when a young man from what came to be known as America, represented the human race and took “one giant leap for mankind.”
But treachery always lurks and around the time when the world was celebrating its finest hour, another young man was being raised to despise the very nation that set his ancestors free. Despite being old enough to witness the defeat of the evil empire by “The Great Communicator,” this young man embraced the ideology of power and deceit. Methodically, he absorbed and practiced the “Rules for Radicals” and with the credential of “Community Organizer,” he exploited the naivete of children and the unjust guilt of Americans, and ascended to the most powerful position in the world…TWICE!
Fear not children of the world. Amidst the adulation showered upon a clever charlatan, REALITY lurks to shine bright lights on a dictator’s lust. It’s time to witness reality shining its light on “Obamacare.” Americans will see the wolf who wears his name tag on his sheep’s clothing and you will be saved.
