If you want an example of political disingenuousness, observe the Obama administration's take on the recent monthly unemployment number.
For the first four years of the Obama presidency, unemployment averaged over 9%. During the last year and a half, the number has crept down to 6.1% last month. As this number dropped, the public never heard that the real unemployment rate was much higher if the number of people who dropped out of the work force was included in the calculation.
Yesterday, the monthly unemployment numbers came out and it crept back up to 6.2%. With no respect for average Americans, in fact treating them like complete morons, the Obama administration, through its Chairman of the Council of Economic Advisors, Jason Furman, shamelessly announced that the reason the unemployment rate went up was because more people were entering the job market.
NOT A PEEP was heard when this same group of workers LEFT the job market, artificially pushing the unemployment number down and helping the political spin from the administration on the economy. Now, as these same folks re-enter the job market, their politically inconvenient presence warrants special mention.
It's likely that Obama supporters don't even care about the truth and will continue to follow him blindly and faithfully. It's important, however, that the truth is told. The Obama administration thinks you're stupid.
