Recently a friend made the following comment to my post on Facebook.
“You know. You and I are not politically aligned. So enlighten me as to what exactly has he accomplished? And how he is making America great?”
After posting my response, I thought it worthy of a blog, so here we are.
“You asked what has President Trump accomplished and how is he making America great again. Before getting to specifics, as most are aware, there is an ideological battle going on in this country between the Left and Right. Economically, the Left wants to march the U.S. towards Socialism, while the Right favors free enterprise and Capitalism. If Republicans can get their act together on health care, they’d repeal and replace Obamacare, a system that is falling apart as we make facebook posts. In foreign affairs, the Left does not support leadership through strength, but rather sees a moral equivalence among all countries and would prefer the U.S. was beholden to the United Nations. The Right supports leadership through strength and American exceptionalism. Politically, the Left has chosen to make identity politics, political correctness, environmental bullying and assaults on first amendment rights dominate their platform. The reason is because they are desperate in the face of domestic and worldwide Leftist policy failures. They have nothing remaining but to divide America into various groups of victims and unite those groups against anyone and any group that disagrees with them. Saul Alinski’s Rules for Radicals has become the biblical playbook of the Left in the domain of politics. The Right is diametrically opposed to the teachings of Mr. Alinski. The Right believes in the canons of the Declaration of Independence. The Right seeks to protect our great Constitution, which supports everyone’s right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.
Those are just three broad categories (economics, foreign affairs, domestic politics) to set the stage for a discussion on President Trump’s specific accomplishments towards making America great. One of his most important achievements is demonstrating, on a daily basis to all Americans, that there is a lot of dishonesty and corruption in the media. Just today, rather than call the horror in Barcelona an act of radical Islamic terrorism, CNN is calling it a “copycat” crime, because a car was used. This is so CNN can keep the focus on their despicable campaign to tie Trump to white supremacy groups. Trump has the honesty, the courage and the will to fight back! He’s an inspiration to voices that have remained silent all these years in the face of Leftism that pervades our schools and culture at large. Economically, he’s getting the country back to work in a number of ways. He’s aggressively supporting our energy industry, specifically the fossil fuel industry. By making the U.S. an energy super power, EVERY aspect of our economy benefits. By making the U.S. energy independent, we are safer and more secure. President Trump is reducing crippling regulation and if Congress works with him on tax reform, he’ll repatriate several trillion dollars in oversees corporate funds. That will further boost the U.S. GDP far beyond the anemic 1.55% rate President Obama accomplished over the last 8 years. In foreign affairs, he’s demonstrated that he’s not afraid to act (dropping 59 Tomahawk missiles on a Syrian airbase when they used chemical weapons). I suspect North Korea taking President Trump’s “fire and fury” comments under advisement. His stance on illegal immigration has resulting in a dramatic decline in illegal crossings, sending the message to those who support ideas that pervert liberty, like “sanctuary cities,” that we are a country with laws. On domestic politics, it goes without saying, he’s making headway against the cancer of political correctness that the Left is using to destroy America. I’ll pause for now and welcome your comments.”
