This is a 13 minute summary video of a longer talk given to the "African Students for Liberty" organization on computer models.
In it I discuss computer models that have tremendous benefit to society, like engineering and product simulations, and models that can have a large negative impact on society, like the current Coronavirus epidemiology model, and climate change models.
The message is, those models for which the influencing factors are either not known, or are too difficult to measure, should not be relied upon to make major policy decisions that affect millions, if not billions, of people.
I want to thank the students in Africa for their interest, their questions, and the opportunity to share my thoughts on these topics.
